WHO WE ARE
We are a Church catalyzing spiritual, social and economic renewal to our neighborhoods, city and nations in Jesus name.
Vision 2060
To see 300 churches planted and established around the world, each with at least 1000 people who are being equipped to make more Christ disciples. We purpose that every church plant will have the capacity to meet the spiritual, social and economic needs of its community by establishing a church building, school, hospital and an economic-skills center.
Our
history
Christ Way mission started as a home fellowship right in the living room of our founders- Pastor Apollo and his late wife Annet Kaggwa. They were both ministers at Gaba community Church and Africa renewal Ministries and that’s where the call to plant a church and ministry was nurtured. In 2013, they left Gaba and by faith went to Najjera (current ministry location)- a place they knew none and started a fellowship called Life Talk. They went to the streets with fliers handing them over to strangers inviting them to their home. The fellowship grew to about 30 committed people within a year and those few people were the nucleus that formed Christ way Church. In 2016 the church was launched and currently meeting in the locations within a distance of 6 kilo meters. Once a home cell, the church is now 450 people combined with 20 Missional communities that serve to impact both believers and non-believers in the community.
MEET OUR
FOUNDERS
Apollo Kaggwa is currently a single father of 3 biological girls (Aquila, Alitza, Ariana) and 2 foster boys (Gabriel and Mathias). He Lost his wife in 2023 with whom they had been married for 16 years.
He accepted Jesus as his personal savior in 1990 at the age of 10. As a young child he attended Sunday school and his zeal for church kept on growing until now.
Apollo’s passion is to serve Christ through the church by using his gifts and talents that include preaching, singing, playing music instruments, TV hosting and doing Christian stand-up Comedy.
He started his ministry journey at Gaba Community church and Africa Renewal Ministries serving as a worship leader and Missions Coordinator respectively.
Apollo grew up in a very poor family of 16 children where the Mother was a street vendor and Father a casual laborer. He and his siblings lived on a less than 3 dollars a day.
Because his parents could not afford paying school fees for all the children, he was sought out by a church and helped through school by Compassion International. It’s through this sponsorship that he was exposed to the potential in him which would have otherwise been wasted in a culture of poverty.
His life mission is to help others become what God created them to be. Apollo started preaching in 1995 when he was in grade 2 high school and he is currently a sought after preacher in the city of Kampala.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management from one of Africa’s best Universities- Makerere University and later graduated with a Master of Arts Degree in Contextualized Pastoral Ministry from Lancaster Bible College and Capital Seminary in Pennsylvania USA.
Him and his late wife Annette, started CWAY in their living room with a number of street strangers who have now grown into a strong spiritual family of about 500 people. He is passionate about discipleship, church planting, youth evangelism, community and leadership development. He is an author, leadership coach, song writer, recording artist and a Christian standup comedian. He has been branded by friends and fans as a man of faith due to his daring approach to ministry and life. He is a strong believer in transforming society through the pattern of Christ and therefore emphasizes doing ministry the Christ Way.
